We are making progress on the creation of the Sunshine Children's Home! Thanks to GLMV Architects, we now have a visual representation of our dream home. A five-bedroom farmhouse has been designed with the input of members of the Children's Home Task Force. It will provide a child-friendly, safe and secure environment for children who have been temporarily removed from their homes. We are thrilled to announce our acceptance of three acres of land donated by Hope Community Church in Andover.
The Sunlight Child Advocacy Center has worked with nearly 500 children since opening its doors in 2007. In 2010 alone, we served 125 children. These children live primarily in Butler County, with others being served from Greenwood and Elk Counties, other Kansas communities, and beyond. We also provide ongoing outreach regarding the prevention of child abuse.
