Tom Howland, Board President

Tom Howland became a Board member in late 2008 and President in 2010. He is an Associate Pastor with Hope Community Church in Andover and has been in full-time ministry since 1981. During these years he has also served as a Law Enforcement Chaplain with several different agencies in the places he and his family have lived. He has seen family situations where children are the victims of poor lifestyle choices in families, so he has a heart for the work SCARF is doing. Tom and his wife Pam have three children and eight grandchildren.

Susan Franz Koslowsky, Board Vice President

Susan Koslowsky is a member of the Butler County community and works as a senior vice president for Emprise Bank. Susan has been employed in banking for over 20 years. Susan has been involved in the community through many boards including the Midway Kansas Chapter of the American Red Cross, Kansas Health Ethics board, The Wichita Symphony Society and Friends of the Wichita Art Museum. Susan has been on the SCARF board since 2007 and is currently serving as board Vice President. Susan has also received many awards for her contributions including Tabor College Alumni Medallion Award, Wichita Business Journal's "40 under 40," and Association of Fundraising Professionals – Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award. Susan is married to John and lives in Towanda and is a member of First Mennonite Brethren Church. |
Gwen Hensley, Board Secretary

Gwen Hensley is a Butler County community member and a resident of Rose Hill since 1977. Gwen has contributed greatly to the Butler County community by co-founding the Rose Hill Emergency Medical Service of Butler County as well as serving as an Emergency Medical Technician; Gwen also served on the Rose Hill city council. In addition, Gwen is an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) in Wichita and serves on the Witness and Service Commission. Gwen has been a volunteer with Victory in the Valley and is herself a cancer survivor of 35 years. Gwen is the widow of E. Earle Hensley and has five children, nine grandsons, four granddaughters, six great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Gwen is currently serving as the board secretary and SCARF welcomes Gwen with her vast knowledge and enthusiasm.

Captain Randy Coffman, Board Member

Randy Coffman is a registered nurse and licensed paramedic and currently is employed by the Andover Police Department as a Captain and Investigations Commander. Randy was previously employed in law enforcement through the Butler County Sheriff's Department and has served our community as a detective for thirteen years. In addition to her daily duties as a detective and supervisor, Randy serves as an on-call SANE/SART nurse through Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Randy is a founding member of SCARF and served several years as board president. In that capacity as well as her professional capacity, Randy has contributed greatly to the formation of SCARF and Sunlight Child Advocacy Center. Randy is married to Mike and they share a daughter, Nicole, and a grandson, Jack.

Mark Conway, Board Member

Mark Conway was elected as Mayor of Rose Hill in 2005 and re-elected for a second four-year term in 2009. Prior to serving as Mayor he was elected to City Council in 2003. He represents Rose Hill as a member of the Regional Economic Area Partnership (REAP) and also serves as Board Chairman of the Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas. Mark is a member of the Rose Hill Lions Club, Rose Hill Historical Society, and Kansas Mayors Association. Mark was honored by his peers as Kansas Mayor of the Year for 2010. He is also a small business owner of an environmental contracting firm. He looks forward to serving on the SCARF Board and helping Butler County reach our goals in helping shape the future of providing shelter and safeguard for our children. Mark is married to Julie and they have a son, Tyler, and a daughter, Paige. |
Dana Phillips, Board Member

Dana Phillips is a Licensed Bachelors Social Worker and is the current Supervisor for Children and Family Services with the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS). Dana has been employed with SRS since 1992. During Dana's time with SRS she has worked in many different capacities including providing cash, medical and food stamp benefits to families and providing medical coverage to the aged and disabled. Dana also worked as a Social Worker doing abuse/neglect investigations in the Wichita SRS for over two years. Prior to beginning work with SRS, Dana was employed by the Texas Department of Human Services providing medical assistance to the aged and disabled. Dana has worked with families in some capacity for the past twenty-seven years. Dana has seen the great need for protecting children in our community. Dana and her husband, Ted, and their two sons, Andrew and Bailey reside in rural Butler County. Dana has two step-children, Brock and Jessica, and five grandchildren.

Linda Ralston, Board Member

Linda brings her passion for children from her years of experience as an English teacher, school counselor and life coach. In addition to these interests, Linda has fundraising and non-profit experience due to her membership on several boards, including serving as the Vice President of the board for Tri-County CASA, Executive Chair for Designing Women, a support group for Wichita Center for the Arts, where she received the Volunteer of the Year Award, and as Past President of Kansas Counselors Association. These experiences make Linda an ideal SCARF board member and she brings her enthusiasm and community knowledge to SCARF's annual fundraiser, the Buckaroo Ball, as the chair. Linda has also become a member of SCARF's task force to develop the Sunshine Children's Home. Linda is married to Harold, and the two share two sons and three grandchildren.

Jan Satterfield, Board Member

Jan Satterfield is the current Butler County Attorney and has served in that capacity since 1999. Prior to her election as County Attorney, Jan was an assistant county attorney for Butler. Jan has served on several boards including the Family Life Center (a domestic violence shelter), Butler Community College Administration of Justice Council, the Governor's Task Force on Consolidation of Public Agencies and is a founding member of SCARF. Jan has served as the vice president of the board and has been instrumental in developing polices and protocols for Sunlight Child Advocacy Center as well as moving forward her passion, the Sunshine Children's Home. Jan is married to Mike and they share five children, Amy, Katie, Michael Jr., Madelyn and Chelsea, as well as three grandchildren, Morgan, Ethan and Natalie. Jan is also a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
